We are honored to celebrate La Rosa Bakery, a cherished Miami institution that has been serving delightful treats and warm hospitality to the community for over fifty-five years.
Established on March 28, 1968, La Rosa Bakery has been offering delectable cakes, pastries, salads, and breads to the people of Miami, thanks to the unwavering dedication and commitment of Osvaldo and Mercedes Mayoral. Even at the ages of 86 and 92, the couple remained at the bakery until late 2019, demonstrating their love for the bakery and the community they served. Over the years, La Rosa Bakery has become a beloved icon in Miami, serving three generations of customers.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of La Rosa Bakery at its present location, but we are grateful for the memories and impact it has had on the community and Miami's history. Our last day of operation will be Sunday, April 23rd. However, don't be surprised to see the "La Rosa Bakery" name and logo again in the future.
We take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated employees and everyone who supported La Rosa Bakery over the years. We are particularly grateful to the customers who made La Rosa Bakery a part of their lives and the community that embraced it as an integral part of Miami's history.
We also pay tribute to Rogelio Mayoral, who started crafting exquisite baked goods as a teenager in Cuba and passed on his expertise to his children. After running a large successful bakery in Cuba, the Mayoral brothers—Osvaldo, Osmar, Oliverio, Otelmy, and Orfilio—emigrated to Miami with their families in the 1960s and replicated their success once more.
The closure of La Rosa Bakery at this location marks the end of an era, but its legacy will live on in the cherished memories of those who enjoyed its delicious offerings and warm hospitality. We will always remember the Mayoral family, the talented bakers, and the supportive staff who made La Rosa Bakery the finest bakery in Miami. Most of all, we want to honor the memory of our sister, Ana Margarita Mayoral, whose constant work and dedication was instrumental in making the bakery a success until her untimely passing.
We invite you to get a taste of history, and indulge one last time. We will continue selling our freshly baked goods until Sunday, April 23rd, at 6 PM.
