💙 Meet the Misfit Behind the Sweets

Hey! I’m Sammi, owner, baker, cake artist, flavor-obsessed creative, and the hands behind Misfitcupcakes.

I create custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies and desserts that are a little unexpected, a whole lot delicious, and definitely not boring.

Based in Miami Gardens and serving Dade & Broward, I specialize in bold flavors, beautiful details and custom sweets made for everything from birthdays and intimate celebrations to weddings, corporate events and those “I just need something GOOD” moments. 😂

But Misfitcupcakes didn’t exactly start with cupcakes...

I actually started on the savory side.
I was a line cook working in a hot kitchen when a culinary internship introduced me to pastry. I fell in love, got offered a job and basically said, “Welp...guess we bake now.” 😂 I never looked back.

💙 And yes, the blue hair has history.
I’ve worn some shade of blue for 15+ years, which is how “Ms. Bleu” became a thing. At this point, changing it might cause an identity crisis.

🧁 My signature buttercream started as a college experiment.
During my last semester, I was working late shifts and baking treats for the employee kitchen. Somewhere between work, school and entirely too much sugar, the recipe that would eventually become my signature buttercream was born.

And Samantha is basically my government name.
It’s Sam or Sammi to pretty much everybody, including my parents. My best friend, however, remains committed to Samantha and apparently cannot be negotiated with.

These days, Misfitcupcakes is growing into more than the desserts you see on your screen. I’m building dessert experiences, hands-on decorating classes, corporate offerings and new ways to get Misfit sweets into more hands. 👀✨

To get to the location in Miami Gardens, you can take public transport by taking the bus. From downtown Miami, take bus route 183 towards NW 215th Street and get off at NW 27th Avenue and NW 167th Street. From there, walk south on NW 27th Avenue until you reach the destination.

If driving, head north on I-95 and take exit 12B for FL-826 West. Merge onto FL-826 West and continue straight until you reach the exit for NW 27th Avenue. Turn left onto NW 27th Avenue and continue driving until you reach the destination on your right. Parking is available in a lot adjacent to the shop.
