Bocadillo: Spain's sandwich, explained 🇪🇸🥖
"Bocadillo" literally means "little mouthful." It's a crusty barra de pan split lengthwise and filled with one star ingredient, maybe two.
Jamón everywhere, fried calamares in Madrid, chorizo for the after-school merienda.
Our bocadillo de jamón takes 10 minutes and needs no cooking: tomato, olive oil, salt and jamón.

Purple, spiced and made for sharing 💜🇪🇨
Colada morada is Ecuador's warm drink for Día de los Difuntos on November 2: purple corn flour, blackberries, naranjilla and pineapple, sweetened with panela and perfumed with cinnamon, cloves and fresh herbs. It's served with guaguas de pan, and it tastes even better the next day, so make it ahead.
