New at this year’s Seafood Slam, Shuck’n the Sunshine State, presented by , will bring together up to 15 South Florida chefs and sous chefs to see who can shuck Florida-grown oysters from the fastest.
The top chef will advance to face farmers Ryan Norris and Nick Frame of -oysters in a two-minute championship showdown. Grab a front-row spot for every round at the experience, taste freshly shucked Florida oysters, and meet the farmers who bring them from the water to South Beach.

Think your recipe has what it takes? Here’s how to enter 👇
1. Create your signature seafood dish using one seafood protein. Bonus points if it's from Milam's!
2. Apply online with a photo of your finished dish, your full recipe and, in 100 words or less, why your dish should be crowned the Milam’s Markets Home Chef Champion.

The Tequila Herradura Bartender Showdown returns to Chef Showdown on Friday, October 23, and we’re looking for four South Florida mixologists ready to shake things up.
Four bartenders will be selected to compete, serving their original Herradura Tequila creations to festival guests. Hosted by Alex Alfonso of Breakthru Beverage, the crowd will vote for the top two, who’ll then go head-to-head live on stage with secret ingredients, a panel of judges, and the chance to be crowned this year’s champion.

Saturday brought the heat! 🔥 We kicked off the very first Home Chef Challenge, hosted by , where local home chefs wowed the crowd and judges alike. Big congrats to Brendon Stubelt, .bbq, who took home the grand prize with his epic SoBe Octo-Taco! 🌮🐙
We also celebrated our ongoing partnership with the Miami Beach Senior High Culinary Program as their students hit the Milam’s Market Culinary Stage for a high-energy High School Chef Showdown. Two student-led teams battled it out with Milam’s ingredients in hand, and Team Hi-Tides claimed victory with their fresh + flavorful Mexican Ceviche! 🐟✨
A day full of creativity, community, and seriously good seafood. 🎉
